From the
political field, health concerns, sexual stances, racial stances, battle of the
sexes and other psychological games; why so much confusion now in days?
With all the technology and rapid speeds to gain information, why does it
appear so hard to come to an affirmative decision? Why do we as people appear
to be so fearful to form our own opinion? Whether our thoughts are concealed or
transparent, we are constantly at battle. Or are we involved in game play?
I was blessed in my younger days to
be a part of the year-round team sports schedule. June to November, football. November to March
the next year, basketball. March to the summer was a combination of track or
baseball. It caused time to go a little faster, but the time was not in vain.
It kept structure and assisted me with building healthy connections up to the
present day. Whether it was going through the hardships of dating someone’s
daughter, to dodging opponents on the field., games were constantly being
played. I would also vision myself of
retiring from the game play. The game play of promiscuity, lustful intent,
manipulation and psychological warfare. And at one time, I envisioned my
own athletic death and acceptance into a hall of fame. Like all athletes when
they leave the field, quitting cold turkey is almost impossible due to the love
of the life and the addiction of competition. Therefore, they may choose a
coaching position and may plan to move up in the sports management world. But
eventually the thrill of winning or losing dissolves.
Now what about in the “real” world?
The games are consistently being played all around the clock and some of us
have lost the thrill of debating and bickering, race baiting, body shaming,
religious banter, men hating and so on. Some of us are done playing. We’ve tried to teach and coach folks the do’s
and don’ts of life. We’ve tried to teach people the playbooks of political
correctness. So now it’s time to head up to the press box. No more game play,
no more yelling and screaming. It’s time to sit comfortably and enjoy it from
our hard-earned discernment. If a person feels they can make a difference on
this battlefield by arguing, marching, and going against the “systems,” I wish
you well. I would advise you to pack much Tylenol and extra padding for your
hands from punching cement walls.
It’s time to watch the game play and embrace ownership. I no longer want to play your games. I’d like to enjoy ownership. I can only control me. I have no desire to control anyone else. Ownership typically means taking responsibility, accountability and applying it at the highest level. The press box normally sits high up and is visible for the crowd to see. My spiritual press box sits with in my soul. Someone else’s may sit in the mind. But the glass from the press box displays division and sets boundaries. The pawns, crazy fanatics and stalkers have no physical way of entering without going through security. Our security is up to us having the ability to spot the madness. In other words, we control who enters our safe places in life. Everyone is not meant to be an owner. So, no need to be dismissive and rude. The players who know that they are meant to be the vessels or the warriors, they deserve their roses also, but not leadership. Owners mirror leadership, quietly or boisterous at times. Are you an owner or a player? Are you planning on moving up in this world? Then you have to know the game and eventually demand ownership. Eventually, we have to stop playing these games! Leave the field and head to the press box.
